Green Shield is a yearly tournament that focuses on the development for Juniors. It promotes the play for fun aspect and encourages all skill levels, whilst still providing serious competition.
With 7 spots available in each age group (3 girls, 4 boys) the tournament can have ~170 players attending. Green Shield is a great way for kids to experience tournament play for the first time.
With a broad range of players in their own age group, the environment tends to be a bit more social compared to other Squash NSW Junior tour events.
Green Shield usually occurs in the month of June and is often very close to the Combined High School (CHS) Squash event. These 2 events are often played at the same centre, this helps with minimising travel around the state for what can be 2 of the most popular squash events for juniors throughout the year.
Hunter Squash will be co-ordinating the team selections, training schedules and general facilitation of the hunter team to play at the event.
